About Pragya

This blog is mostly about going places and experiencing peaceful and interesting moments. As going places involves people and sometimes their culture, food, life, art, spirit and attitudes, the blog will talk about these as well. Since I live in Arizona, the places will be local although occasionally I travel half way around the world to India and sometimes Europe.
Growing up at an international boarding school nestled in the Himalayan valley in India, I’ve developed a keen interest in diverse cultures, places and religions. Although I don’t believe in astrology, I must agree with some traits that define the Sagittarius character such as adventure, philosophy, friends and travel.
I am a law graduate currently exploring the field of journalism which allows me to meet new and interesting people and write about the many places I visit.

Some people like to know about my name so this is for them: Pragya is derived from Sanskrit “Pra”(light) + “Gyan” (knowledge). In combination, the name means enlightened knowledge or wisdom. It is pronounced like the city “Prague” with a “ya” at the end. Some say “Pragnia” as in “Gnostic” which isn’t wrong because Gnostic also suggests enlightened knowledge (and I hope I can be true to my name ; )) So there you go!
